I wish I could give a definite answer. I used to charge for it many years ago, but at the time it wasn\u2019t selling much and I thought it would be a shame if only few people got to try it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another reason is that it tries to offer a minimalistic writing environment that doesn\u2019t distract from the creative process, and nowadays, with a larger user base and people wanting this or that feature or imagining that it should do things this or that way, I find it quite hard to decide what fits well and what would make the app less minimalistic, and I don’t want to disappoint paying users because I added one feature too many or decided against another one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Finally, there\u2019s so many writing apps out there, that I don\u2019t quite feel like competing with all of them in terms of both features and price. Knowing that I don\u2019t have to appease any paying users allows me to view it all from a more creative angle, I think.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
