Why is the app free?

I wish I could give a definite answer. I used to charge for it many years ago, but at the time it wasn’t selling much and I thought it would be a shame if only few people got to try it.

Another reason is that it tries to offer a minimalistic writing environment that doesn’t distract from the creative process, and nowadays, with a larger user base and people wanting this or that feature or imagining that it should do things this or that way, I find it quite hard to decide what fits well and what would make the app less minimalistic, and I don’t want to disappoint paying users because I added one feature too many or decided against another one.

Finally, there’s so many writing apps out there, that I don’t quite feel like competing with all of them in terms of both features and price. Knowing that I don’t have to appease any paying users allows me to view it all from a more creative angle, I think.

Currently, one way to sustain my work would be to buy one of my other apps if you find it useful, or make a donation.
